Our New Website

Our New Website

A warm and friendly welcome to our new website, specifically created to promote our extreme fundraising event, in support of the country’s leading mental health charity specialising in veteran rehabilitation. Our gruelling seven day challenge intends to raise awareness of mental health issues in both military and civilian walks of life, whilst elevating the profile of the work that Combat Stress does to support service personnel and veterans with PTSD, anxiety and depression. Our new website supports that cause by providing an effective online presence for our campaign, allowing us to quickly and easily accept donations, whilst giving us a medium to communicate and interact with those supporting the cause. It is hoped that our event will be embraced by the nation, as we strive to make a real difference for both the charity and veterans, raising a life changing amount for a more than worthy cause.

Your support, whether that be via a donation or by simply sharing our message on social media, is key to the success of our event. Donating via our website is safe, quick and easy and all transactions are collected and processed securely in partnership with Just Giving. Every penny counts as we target raising a sizable amount for the charity. The donation process is hassle free and secure, and your funds will be sent directly to the benefactor Combat Stress. As a fundraiser, we will not see any details of your transaction, other than the donation amount, and you can also donate anonymously, should you choose. We are also accepting donations in person and via Facebook, if those methods are better for you. You can track the progress of campaign via our website homepage, which features a handy feed from our fundraising profile, displaying donation totals and the journey towards our target.

Such an extreme event as this takes months of planning, with a team of people supporting from all angles, both internally by teams in the forces, and externally by specialist companies who are donating their time and efforts to support the cause. Let us not kid ourselves, this challenge will have a massive impact on the life of Major Powers over the next few months, as he prepares to push his body and mind to the extreme. This endurance event will demonstrate the effects that sleep disruption and deprivation can have on a person’s psychological state and mental health, and we urge you to follow his journey and show your support. You can follow our progress in preparation for the challenge in our news section, and why not follow us on social media to share our story.

All that leaves us to do is thank our sponsors and the incredible team behind the scenes, who are all working relentlessly to make this event happen. This website and all of our marketing materials have been crafted with love and passion by one of our key sponsors, who have donated their time and efforts over a period of months to support the cause. Web Studios Ltd is a long established website design and marketing agency based in Lincolnshire, specialising in the creation of online and offline content, supported by promotion strategies to bring about success. The company has designed and created our brand, promotional materials and developed this website, whilst continuing to support us with ongoing marketing and promotion, for which we cannot thank them enough.

Day Six and in Steady Waters

Sunday 4th July 2021
A marina on the Ripon Canal in Yorkshire was basecamp for day six of Sip’s mammoth challenge, traveling back to familiar territory for a twenty four hour paddle up and down the steady waters. After the heights and undulation of the last three days, climbing, mountain trekking and abseiling, canoeing and a more rural setting provided a more peaceful backdrop to todays challenge, an important one for Sip and the team to reflect on the scale of the achievement so far. At the start of this day...
